O’Plaine Station is a house concert series located in Gurnee, IL. Dedicated for families and folk.
We host concerts in our living room that has a capacity of up to 20 people. Weather permitting, we can set up in the backyard for a larger capacity.
We have seating, but we always suggest bringing a camping or folding chair just in case. We will have suggested donation for attendance, which the entire amount goes to the artists. BYOB.
For artists interested in performing or for audience interested in attending, email us at opstationcs@gmail.com.
The O’Plaine Station concert series was started on 10/3/25. The name of the concert series is taken from both the main road leading into our subdivision (O’Plaine Road) and the historic O’Plaine House and the associated barn behind, located a couple miles from our house. The barn is said to have been a stop on the underground railroad. It was located 100 yards from the Des Plaines river and behind the popular boarding house which had visitors coming and going at all hours. Since most UR havens were called “stations”, our think tank came up with O’Plaine Station. We are a welcoming stop along your long journey from one place to another. We take in all and provide a safe space to share ideas, thoughts, stories and songs in an intimate environment with eager ears and open minds.
